Discover Camiana 2010
While untimely rains lingered on Napa’s valley floor for a touch too long, the peaks of Howell Mountain basked in the glow of golden California Sunshine during the 2011 growing season. Ripening proceeded as normal up on the mountain, taming the tannins and coaxing the fruit ever riper.
Soon enough, the black birds wanted in on the bounty. Usually a good sign that the fruit is just about ready to pick. And when we finally got the flavors we were looking for, it was a cool clear fall morning, the picking crew made short work of the 3 acre vineyard on November 3rd- picking at a brim of 24.5. Tiny grapes packed with the a story of the season. Fermented on wild yeast, aged in 225 liter French oak barriques, and bottled 18 months later, unfined and unfiltered.
